10th of October – World mental health day

Mental Health Day is celebrated around the world since 1992 and Caritas, with it’s partners, is celebrating it since 2005. Every year this day is a chance to speak more about the mental health problems, which are not only related to the beneficiaries of psychiatric services, but involve all the society. More than 25% of people are facing mental problems through some period of their lives. These are universal disorders, which affect people from all countries and societies, people of all age groups, women and men, rich and poor, from city and rural areas.

Although a fourth of the society is facing mental problems, the beneficiaries of psychiatric services are often marginalized, marked from their environment like different, which is why even after the treatment they have great problems in facing independent life and finding a job.

On this 10th of October on B92INFO at 10.00, 14.30, 19.00 will be broadcasted the film of Misa Stojiljkovic “State of the soul”, which speaks about the life of members of the associations of beneficiaries of psychiatric services and about some of the previous activities of Caritas.

For this World mental health day it will be organized an exibition of creative works of the beneficiaries of psychiatric services, organized by the association “Videa”, which will take place tomorrow 10th of October at 7PM in the Vladimira Radovanovica street, no. 2, Banovo Brdo – Belgrade, as also the forum theater “Stories from the soul” with the members of the association of beneficiaries of psychiatric services “Duša”, which will be held on Monday 13th of October at 8PM at Dom Omladine.
