Representatives of 15 youth organisations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Serbia, partners on the project Youth United, gathered in Belgrade from the 12th till the 14th of February to participate to the training Human rights and democracy.
Thorough numerous workshops and interaction with the participants the trainers Sara Dereta and Dusan Pokusevski from the Belgrade centre for Human Rights went through themes like the development of human rights, their classification, international mechanism for protection of human rights, discrimination, rule of law, democracy, peace-building and reconciliation, as well as the role of civil society organisations in peace-building.
The participants from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Serbia were able to find many similarities in common values and the willingness to build a society without prejudice and discrimination.
The project Youth United is coordinated by Caritas Bosnia and Herzegovina, Caritas Slovenia and Caritas Serbia, with the goal to strengthen youth organisation, encourage inter-ethnic cooperation and inter-religious dialogue. The project is financed by the Erasmus + fund of the European Union.
